Homeopathic Medicine for Wounds

For healing a wound, three factors are necessary:

1. Cleanliness: For this purpose, the dirt, sand, splinters, small pieces of glass, etc. should be removed and the wound should be washed with cold water to which a few drops of Calendula Q have been added.
2. Dressing of the wound: It is important to bring the sides of the wound together and to exclude the air. It can be done by stitching if the wound is large or by applying pressure with fingers. Thereafter a lint dipped in Calendula Q should be placed over it and a little cotton be placed on the lint. Then bandage it tightly to keep the ends of the wound together.
3. Bleeding: If the wound is bleeding profusely, the bleeding should be stopped before step no. 2. A bandage should be tied above the wound to the side of the heart tightly. It will stop bleeding. Thereafter a lint piece dipped in Trillium pend. Q should be applied over it as in step no. 2.
4. Healing: When the wound has healed and stitches, if applied, have been removed, a paint of Sunflower oil on the scar and around acts like Arnica and removes swelling, bruises and like Calendula is an antiseptic.
5. Surgery: In deep and dangerous wounds, help of a surgeon should be obtained. The following medicines should be used internally as indicated:

HOMEOPATHIC REMEDIES

Calendula off. Q (Twice a day): It is a very good remedy for wounds. When applied locally, open wounds and ulcers heal quickly as it promotes healthy granulation. Use 20 drops of Calendula Q in an ounce of water for cleaning the wound and for dressing, use Calendula Q.

Hypericum Q (Thrice a day) 10 drops in ½ cup of water: Use externally as well as internally for lacerated wounds, injured nerves and also punctured wounds.

Iodium Q (Thrice a day): It is a very good remedy for keeping wounds clean and disinfected. Use it in gunshot wounds after removing the pellets and in bites of insects and reptiles.

Ledum pal. (One dose daily) For 3 days: Use externally and internally for punctured wounds. In 200 potency, a dose daily for three days acts as anti-tetanus.

Oleum Cinnamomum (Thrice a day): 10 drops of the oil of Cinnamomum in a litre of water acts as a germicide and disinfectant. It can be used as a vaginal douche and if used as such following sexual intercourse sometimes proves an effective contraceptive. It can be used for washing wounds.

Staphysagria 200 (One dose daily): Incised wounds. Clear cut wounds. Cuts with a knife or other sharp instruments or weapons like a sword.

Wiesbaden 200 (One dose daily): Gunshot wounds which are slow to heal are benefited by the use of this remedy.
