Carbuncle Homeopathic Treatment
Carbuncle is a deep seated pyogenic infection of the skin and subcutaneous tissues, usually arising in several continuous hair follicles, often preceded or accompanied by fever, malaise and prostration.
Anthracinum 1000 (One dose only) Repeat every 3rd day: Carbuncles with burning and high fever.
Apis mel. (Thrice a day): Carbuncles with burning and stinging pains, extremely sensitive to touch.
Arsenicum alb. (Thrice a day): Intense burning and swelling. Pain is greater after midnight.
Belladonna (Four times a day): Intense pain and redness at the site of carbuncles. Swelling. Throbbing. This remedy may be used in the beginning.
Calendula off. Q (Thrice a day), Echinacea Q (Thrice a day): When the carbuncle has opened, a piece of lint soaked with either of the remedies should be applied to the ulcer. These have great antiseptic and healing powers.
Carbolicum acid. 200 (One dose daily): Carbuncles accompanied with diabetes, which do not heal normally. The discharge is very offensive.
Eucalyptus 1x (Thrice a day): Urethral carbuncles which bum and cause tensemus in the urethra.
Hepar Sulphuris 200 (Twice a day): There is a throbbing pain and burning. The carbuncles are sore to touch. The carbuncle has burst and there is a thick discharge of pus. The patient is weak and speaks in a very low tone.
Lachesis (Thrice a day): Carbuncles of a dark blue color and accompanied with fever.
Myristica seb. (Thrice a day): It acts as a knife and breaks open the carbuncles. In healing, its powers are greater than Silicea and Hepar Sulphuris.
Silicea 200 (One dose only) Repeat after a week: Carbuncles on the back between the shoulders and under the nape of the neck. More indicated when suppuration has set in and the pus is thin. Fistula openings are usually present. Repeat weekly. There is not much pain.
Staphylococcinum 200 (One dose only) Repeat after a week: It is a useful remedy for cure of carbuncles and furuncles.
NOTE 1: Carbuncles are most commonly found on the nape of the neck or upper back or on buttocks. They become perforated and discharge pus through several openings.
NOTE 2: A poultice prepared with the pulp of a fig applied on a carbuncle has a soothing and curative effect.
