Homeopathic Medicine for Fever And Cold
Aconitum nap. (Thrice a day): During the first stages of the fever. Simple fever during very hot weather or very cold weather. High temperature. Shinning, red, hot skin. Chilly when uncovered or touched. Restlessness is always present.
Arsenicum alb. (Thrice a day): High temperature, septic fevers, cold sweats and restlessness. Great thirst. Drinks often but little. Accumulation of dead skin scales on the lips during fever. Fever worse during the night. Malaria.
Baptisia (Thrice a day): Debilitating fever. Soreness all over the body. Chill at about 11 a.m. Heat all over with occasional chills. Low type of fever. Fever while travelling in ships.
Belladonna (Thrice a day): Fever without thirst. Feet icy cold, upper body steaming hot. Temperature high. Fever due to heat of sun.
Bryonia alba (Thrice a day): Fever with full, hard, tense and quick pulse. Chill with external coldness, dry cough and stitches in the chest. Easy, profuse perspiration. Gastric symptoms may accompany.
Cactus (Thrice a day): Fever every day at the same hour with feeling of coldness in the back and icy cold hands. Paroxysms at about 11 AM, incomplete in their stages.
Ferrum phos. 6x (Four times a day): In all early stages of fever. It stands between Aconitum nap. and Belladonna. Face flushed. Pulse soft. No restlessness.
Gelsemium (Thrice a day): Much muscular soreness. Chilliness up and down the back. Wants to be held because he shakes. Pulse low, full and soft. Heat and sweat stages debilitating. Great headache. Thirst less. Patient does not want to be disturbed.
Nux vomica (Thrice a day): Fever with gastric symptoms. One important indication for the use of this remedy is that the patient feels chilly when uncovered and yet he does not allow to be covered.
Pyrogenium 200 (One dose only), Echinacea Q (Twice a day): Septic fevers. Coldness and chilliness during high temperature. Temperature rises rapidly. Great heat and sweating does not reduce the temperature. Wonderful fever remedy after child birth. Usually one-two doses cure.
Rhus tox. 200 (Thrice a day): Fever with weakness, restlessness and trembling. Diarrhea. Dry cough. Accumulation of dead skin scales on the lips. Fever with skin eruptions.
Staphylococcinum 200 (One dose only): Fever on account of acne, abscesses and furuncles or where staphylococci is the chief bacterial factor. Septic fevers.
Streptococcinum 200 (One dose only): Reduces the temperature in all types of fevers. Rapid in action.
Sulphur (One dose daily): Remittent type of fever with frequent flushes of heat throughout the body with much sweating and great thirst.
MALARIA FEVER
Boldo fragrans Q (Twice a day): Disturbed liver after malaria.
China off. (Thrice a day): Fever may return every week. Chill generally in the afternoon, thirst before chill, drinks little but often. Easy perspiration. Symptoms worse every alternate day.
Chininum ars. (Thrice a day): In prolonged malarial fevers with neuralgia. It cures such fevers.
Chininum sulph. (Thrice a day): Chill daily at 3 PM. Painful swelling of the various veins during chill. Shivering even in a warm room or with a blanket on.
Eupatorium perf. (Thrice a day): Heavily coated tongue. Bitter taste. Great pains in the bones. No thirst during chill. Frontal headache. Violent shivering.
Ferrum ars. 6 (Thrice a day): In the later stages of malaria when the liver and spleen are enlarged.
Malaria off. 200 (One dose only): A dose given in the beginning when the fever is not high, either cures malaria or cuts short its course and avoids further complications.
Natrium mur. 200 (One dose daily) For 3 days: Fever returns from 9-11 AM. Continued chill, constipation. It should not be given during fever; else the fever will increase. Before fever when the temperature is not more that 98┬░F, a dose or two at an interval of an hour reduces the chances of fever coming on.
Pyrogenium 200 (One dose only): Chronic malaria.
Tuberculinum 200 (One dose only): Post critical temperature of a remittent type. Repeat every two hours.
TYPHOID
Absinthium (Thrice a day): If there is sleeplessness, along with the fever.
Acidum mur. (Thrice a day): It is used in very grave conditions when there is bleeding from the rectum or the patient becomes unconscious.
Arsenicum alb. (Thrice a day): It does good in all sorts of fevers provided its symptoms – restlessness, unquenchable thirst, drinks often but little, sweats, etc., are present. Appearance of dead scales of the skin on the lips is also one of the good indications for its use. The patient feels chilly.
Arum triph. (Thrice a day): If there is delirium or diarrhea or both.
Baptisia (Thrice a day), Echinacea Q (Twice a day): Diarrhea or dysentery during typhoid fever. Stools very offensive with rumbling in the abdomen.
Bryonia alba (Thrice a day), Baptisia (Thrice a day): Given in alternation every two hours often helps cure and does not allow complications to develop. Baptisia acts as an antibiotic to typhus in tincture form.
Cuprum met. 200 (Twice a day): When there is unconsciousness. One dose every 12 hours. Urine may be suppressed. Weakness. Restlessness.
Gelsemium (Thrice a day): To be used in the early stages when there is a lot of headache.
Phosphorus (Thrice a day): If complicated with pneumonia.
Rhus tox (Thrice a day).: Triangular tip of tongue and diarrhea. Restlessness is always present.
NOTE 1: Typhoid fever is a bacterial infection of the bowel and blood. It is transmitted by ingesting contaminated food or drinks.
NOTE 2: A temperature is considered a fever if it is above 38 ┬░C (100.4┬░F).
NOTE 3: Fever is symptom, not a disease. Like some other symptoms. For example, cough, vomiting. Fever may be due to some illness which should be diagnosed and treated. Bringing down the temperature with medication does not take away the cause of the fever.
