Homeopathic Medicine for Hematemesis – Bleeding from Stomach
Aconitum nap. (Thrice a day): Hematemesis of new born infants.
Bryonia alba (Thrice a day): Vicarious hematemesis; vomiting of bright red blood, followed by a dry, fatiguing cough.
Causticum (Thrice a day): Nocturnal vomiting of dark blood.
Ceanothus Q (Thrice a day): Vomiting of clotted blood mixed with food. It is acidic in reaction. Use of this remedy will materially reduce clotting of blood.
Cicuta vir. (Thrice a day): Hematemesis in the aged.
Ficus ind. Q (Thrice a day): A great anti-haemorrhagic remedy, when blood is pure red.
Hamamelis Q (Thrice a day): Blood is dark in color.
Hyoscyamus nig. (Thrice a day): Hematemesis in drunkards, with hiccough and bitter eructations, blood dark red or bloody mucus.
Ipecacuanha 1x (Thrice a day): When the blood is bright red. Bleeding may be accompanied with continuous nausea.
Millefolium (Thrice a day): Active hemorrhage, bright red in color.
Opium (Thrice a day): Hematemesis in drunkards and old people.
Phosphorus (Twice a day): Hematemesis after suppression of menses; coffee ground vomiting with oppression and burning in the stomach.
Rhus tox. (Thrice a day): Hematemesis from over-exertion or lifting heavy weights.
Stannum met. (Thrice a day): Hemorrhage from stomach. Sensation of emptiness in the stomach. Smell of food causes vomiting.
Veratrum alb. (Thrice a day): Hematemesis with continuous nausea, fainting, profuse cold sweat, prostration and collapse. Discharge of clotted blood from the bowels with crampy colic.
NOTE: In such cases absolute rest for the patient is necessary and nothing should be given by the mouth. Feeding is done intravenously if necessary. No stimulants. Have the patient lie down and ask him to be quiet.
