In this disease, blood takes a long time to coagulate and, therefore, even small wounds bleed profusely and for a long time. It is a hereditary disease and occurs almost exclusively in males. There is deficiency of anti-haemophilic factor in the blood. In emergencies, transfusion of blood is required. The following remedies are used:

Ficus ind. Q (Thrice a day) 5-10 drops in ┬╜ cup of water: It possesses great anti-haemorrhagic properties and stops the bleeding quickly.
Hamamelis Q (Thrice a day) 10 drops in ┬╜ cup of water: In every case, this remedy is applied on the wound and should be allowed to dry. This will make the blood coagulate. Distilled extract is better for local use and mother tincture for oral use.
Lachesis (Thrice a day), Crotalus hor. (Thrice a day) or 200 potency once a week: These maybe used in 200 potency for a long time till cure – every week.
Phosphorus (Thrice a day): Slightest wound bleeds too much.
Secale cor. (Thrice a day): Slightest wound bleeds for weeks together. There is tingling in the limbs.

NOTE: In the conventional method of treatment anti – haemophilic factor is named factor 9. Such patients are treated with factor 9 taken from human blood or with protein taken from cell cultures, some of which are genetically engineered. Such blood is tested for HIV infection, hepatitis and other blood diseases before such a use.
