Homeopathic Medicine for Jaundice
Aconitum nap. (Thrice a day): It is a good remedy in jaundice of infants when used in the very early stages.
Aesculus hip. (Thrice a day): Dull pain in the liver radiating to the navel.
Arsenicum alb. (Thrice a day): Chronic jaundice with fever. Thirst for small quantities of water at short intervals. Jaundice after abuse of quinine.
Bryonia: Stinging liver pains. Constipation with no urge to relieve. Craving for cold water.
Carduus mar. (Thrice a day): Jaundice and pain in the liver region are corrected by the use of this remedy-very specially of alcoholics and beer drinkers.
Carica papaya Q (Thrice a day), 10 drops in ┬╜ cup of water: Eyes yellow. Loss of appetite. Nausea and vomiting. Pain in the right hypochondrium.
Chamomilla (Thrice a day): Jaundice in a new born baby. Baby cries a lot.
Chelidonium 6 (Four times a day): Pain in the right shoulder blade. Eyes and face are yellow. Taste is bitter. Urine is deep yellow or brownish-red. Stools are clay colored. This remedy is usually required in most of the cases. It is to be used for a long time. Liver region is painful to touch.
China off. (Thrice a day): This remedy will commonly ward off the development of a commencing attack of jaundice. Liver is hard and painful. Yellowish skin and eyes. White colored stools. Abdominal flatus. Bitter taste.
Chionanthus (Thrice a day): A prominent liver remedy. Aching in the umbilical region. Liver sore and enlarged. Constipation. Clay colored stools or soft yellow colored stools. No appetite.
Hydrastis (Thrice a day): There is imprint of teeth on the tongue. Nausea, vomiting and constipation maybe present. Its action is marked on the liver. Liver torpid and tender. Pain in the right groin.
Lycopodium (Thrice a day): Nervous and irritable, sudden ferocious hunger spells but with quick satisfaction.
Mercurius off. (Thrice a day): It is a very near specific remedy in a great number of cases of jaundice. Whitish-grey stools. Boring pain in the right groin, liver enlarged, sore to touch. Bile secreted deficiently.
Myrica c. (Thrice a day): Persistent sleeplessness with jaundice. Complete loss of appetite. Bitter taste. Dull pain in the region of liver.
Natrium phos. 1x (Thrice a day): Skin yellow. Feet icy cold in day time and bum at night. This may be given in alternation with any other remedy, especially Natrium sulph. 6x.
Natrium sulph. 6x (Four times a day): Liver sore to touch with sharp stitching pains. Great size of stools.
Nux vomica (Thrice a day): Throbbing pain in the region of liver. Appetite scanty. Alcoholic patient.
Phosphorus 6c: Acute hepatitis, Jaundice.
Plumbum met. (Thrice a day): Jaundice with very pale skin.
Podophyllum (Thrice a day): Liver region is sore, better by lying on the abdomen. Most suited to children. Liver region is painful, better by rubbing the part. Constipation alternating with diarrhea.
Sulphur (Twice a day): In all the cases of jaundice, the treatment maybe started and ended with this remedy.
Thyreoidinum 3x (Thrice a day): In desperate cases of jaundice in new born babies, this remedy will bring back the patient almost from the jaws of death.
NOTE: The following are the possible causes of jaundice:
- Excessive bile pigment is due to obstruction of bile passages. It can be gall stones blocking the common duct.
- Excessive destruction of red blood cells. It may be due to carcinoma of the head of pancreas.
- Disturbances in functioning of liver cells.
- Jaundice is most often caused by hepatitis virus, germs or parasites. Hepatitis A virus is transmitted orally and hepatitis B is transmitted through injections and blood transfusions and affects drug addicts or people who receive multiple blood transfusions.
