Homeopathic Medicine for Myelitis – Inflammation Of The Spinal Cord
Aconitum nap. (Thrice a day): Fever. Violent pains along the spine. Fear of death. It should be used in acute or first stage.
Arnica mont. (Thrice a day): Inflammation of the spinal cord due to a fall or blow on the spine. Pain worse on touch.
Arsenicum alb. (Thrice a day): Burning pains in the spine. Restlessness with weakness, cramps in calves. Involuntary urination. Loss of sensibility except cold. Pain mostly in hands and feet.
Belladonna (Thrice a day): Violent pain along the spine. Tetanic spasms. Fever when only upper part of the spine is involved.
Cicuta vir. (Thrice a day): Violent convulsions. Shrieking cries.
Cuprum ars. (Thrice a day): Pain in the lumbar region. Cramps in calves of the legs relieved by pressure. Numbness of the legs. Vertigo.
Hypericum 12x (Thrice a day): Inflammation of the spinal cord when the nerves have been injured.
Plumbago iod. (Thrice a day): Chronic spinal paralysis. Spinal cord is thickened. Cramps in the calves. Indigestion.
Secale cor. (Thrice a day): Anus paralysed. Remains open. Stools pass without notice. Pain in the sexual organs. Restlessness, sleeplessness and trembling.
Strychninum phos. 3x (Thrice a day): Great rigidity of the lower limbs. Cramps and spasms in limbs. Anemia of spinal cord.
NOTE: When the paralysis develops, there is a danger of it becoming complete. At first, there is retention of stools and urine, and later incontinence. Feces and urine may pass involuntarily. Bed sores develop. In rare cases, a slow recovery follows, if the case is treated carefully a partial paralysis may remain, in that case, a remedy for paralysis maybe employed.
