Hepar Sulphuris 3x (Thrice a day): Extreme pain in the throat on swallowing, one sided swelling and inflammation about the tonsils, pain often extending to the ear. Three doses a day, preferably in water.

Hydrastis Q: Used as a gargle in a septic state of the throat in malignant scarlet fever, arrests the destructive process at once.

Lachesis (One dose daily): There is no remedy so often effective in breaking up an attack of quinsy at its interception nor in promoting resolution in the later stages. Very distressing aggravation after sleeping.
