Homeopathic Medicine for Whooping Cough
Ambra grisea (Thrice a day): Convulsive cough with flow of warm water from the mouth.
Belladonna 200 (Twice a day): In the first stage of cough. Dry cough with a red face. 3-4 fits at a time. If there is no improvement within 24 hours do not repeat it. Choking. Sputum maybe bloods streaked. Vomiting may occur. Expectoration is scanty and tenacious.
Cocculus ind. (Thrice a day), Natrium mur. (Thrice a day): Spells of vomiting and coughing with tears in in eyes.
Corallium rub. (Thrice a day): Spasmodic whooping cough. Attacks follow and run into each other. Profuse secretion of mucus, mucus drops through posterior nares. Feels as if cold air was passing from head to air passages. Cough is worse in open air.
Drosera 30 (Thrice a day): It is a true remedy for whooping cough. Cough is barking and choking. Sputum maybe bloods streaked. Vomiting may occur. Give only one dose and await results for four days. Cough may not come all day long but commences as soon as the head touches the pillow at night. Patient cannot speak due to asthma.
Fluoroformium: 2-4 drops, after paroxysm of cough. A 2 percent watery solution of this remedy is considered specific for the cure of whooping cough.
Ipecacuanha (Thrice a day): Whooping cough with nausea, vomiting and wheezing.
Kalium carb. (Thrice a day): Dry, hoarse cough worse about 3 AM with stitching pain in the chest and dryness in the throat, worse in cold and better in warm climate. Expectoration is scanty and tenacious.
Magnesium phos. (Thrice a day): Voice hoarse. Cannot lie down, suffocating cough.
Mephitis 1x (Thrice a day): A great remedy for whooping cough. Cough giving a feeling that the patient will die on account of coughing which is very violent and with a long spell, and accompanied with a suffocating feeling and rattling of mucus. The childтАЩs face gets blue. Vomiting may accompany cough which is worse at night.
Naphthalinum (Thrice a day): Long lasting, choking cough with sneezing. Throat appears constricted.
Pertussinum (One dose only): It is a nosode of whooping cough and if given in the beginning of the disease cuts short its duration.
Thymus serpyllum Q (Twice a day): Whooping cough of children. Sore throat and burning in the pharynx. Severe spasms but only a little sputum is expectorated.
