Homeopathic Remedies for Amoebiasis – Amoebic Dysentery
This disease is generally characterised by dysentery and diarrhoea, weakness and prostration. Nausea, vomiting and pains may be present. In chronic cases, ulceration of the colon occurs. The microscopic examination of the stool shows presence of a single cell protozoon Entamoeba histolytica or Giardiasis lamblia.
Aloe soc. (One dose only): A lot of mucus is present with the stools. Copious flatus and pain in the rectum after the stool.
Atista rad. 3x: It is useful in dysentery, either amoebic or bacillary. Acute pain around the naval. Passes only blood with stool and if mucus is also present in the stool along with the blood, use Asista indica.
Calcarea iod. 3x (One dose only): Some practitioners recommend it for the disease.
Emetinum lx (One dose only): It is specific for the disease. Give in drop doses, four times a day.
Mercurius cor. (One dose only): Constant cutting pains in the abdomen and intolerable, almost ineffectual pressing, straining and tenesmus; only frequent, scanty discharges of bloody slime, day and night.
Symphytum off. 1M: Give one dose fortnightly when ulceration of the large intestines is present.
Thuja occ. Q (One dose only) 10 drops in ┬╜ cup water: It is an excellent remedy for this disease and the treatment should be started with it. No other remedy should be given for the next 24 hours.
