Homeopathic Remedies for Chronic Dysentery
A disease marked by frequent watery stools, with blood and mucus, and characterised by pain, tenesmus, fever and dehydration.
Aloe soc. (Four times a day): Stools contain a lot of mucus or are jelly-like. There is burning and pain in the rectum after stools. Burning, copious flatus. Insecurity of rectum. Patient is afraid of passing flatus as he is not sure whether urge is for stool or flatus. Bleeding from rectum.
Antimonium crud. (Thrice a day): Stool composed entirely of mucus.
Baptisia (Thrice a day): Dysentery of old people. Dysentery during typhoid fever.
Colocynthis: Dysentery each time when least food or drink is taken.
Chapparro (Thrice a day): It is an excellent remedy for chronic dysentery and diarrhea.
Colchicum autum. (Thrice a day): Autumnal dysentery when days are hot and nights are cold.
Mercurius cor. (Four times a day), Mercurius sol. (Four times a day): Begin the treatment with Mercurius cor., if there is much blood or with Mercurius sol. if there is much mucus. Cutting pains are present and stools are scanty. Tenesmus before and after stools. This generally cures the case.
Nux vomica (Four times a day): Stools contain much mucus. There are abdominal pains before stools and these are relieved after stools.
Septicaeminum (Twice a day): It cures magically, the dysentery which is produced in a camp life.
Thuja occ. 200 (One dose daily): It is an excellent remedy for amoebic dysentery.
Trombidium (Thrice a day): Dysentery worse by eating and drinking. Stools only after eating. Much pain before and after stools. Burning in the anus.
