Homeopathic Remedies for Cramps
Acidum sulph.: Writers cramps in fingers when writing.
Agaricus mus. (Thrice a day): Cramps in soles.
Ambra grisea (Thrice a day): Cramps in hands and fingers especially when grasping anything. Cramps in legs.
Ammonium carb. (Thrice a day): Cramps in calves and soles.
Apocynum can. (Thrice a day), Carbo veg. (Thrice a day): Cramps in soles.
Argentum met. (Thrice a day): Cramps in hands and feet. Weakness in the right arm and tearing sensation in the wrist and the finger tips.
Arnica mont. (Thrice a day): Cramps come on as a result of over-exertion or from muscular fatigue. Limbs feel as if beaten. Cramps are better on starting to move and are worse from prolonged movements, from heat and light pressure.
Bismuthum 6 (Thrice a day): Specific for Writer’s cramps.
Calcarea carb. (Thrice a day): Cramps of severe nature, especially in calves, fingers and toes. Worse at night and on stretching.
Camphora Q (Twice a day) 10 drops in ┬╜ cup of water: Cramps in the body with icy coldness of the limbs and body.
Carbolicum acidum (Thrice a day): In the lower legs while walking.
Cholas terrapina (Thrice a day): Simple cramps in muscles of calves and feet with pains like Rheumatism.
Cocculus ind. (Thrice a day): Cramps in the chest.
Cuprum ars. (Thrice a day): Cramps in the calves of legs worse after midnight. These are relieved by standing.
Cuprum met. 12 (Thrice a day): Never fails in cramps of calves, feet or legs, soles, palms, fingers and toes.
Cyclamen (Thrice a day): Writer’s cramps. Pain in the bones of the hands.
Eugenia jam. (Thrice a day): Nocturnal cramps in the soles of feet.
Ferrum met. 6 (Thrice a day): Cramps in calves, soles and legs.
Gelsemium (Thrice a day): Cramps in muscles of forearm. Trembling and weakness in all the limbs.
Gnaphalium: Cramps in the legs and feet when in bed.
Lycopodium: One foot cold, the other hot, sudden jerking of the leg in the middle of the right.
Magnesium phos. 6x (Thrice a day) – 1M (One dose only): Writer’s and playerтАЩs cramps in wrists, hands and fingers due to excessive and long writing or use of fingers and hands. Numbness is usually present and there is relief by pressing the affected part, by warmth and massage.
Natrium phos. (Thrice a day): Cramps of feet, calves and hands on writing.
Nux vomica (Thrice a day): The legs feel numb, almost paralysed. Cramps in calves and soles.
Petroleum (Thrice a day): Chronic or acute, persistent, violent and firm cramps, with cracking of joints.
Plumbum met. (Thrice a day), Lycopodium (Thrice a day): Cramps in calves and toes at night in bed.
Podophyllum (Thrice a day): Cramps of the intestines.
Rhus tox. (Thrice a day): Cramps by swimming in cold water. Cramps in the calf muscles and legs by stretching, especially at night. Cramps worse rest and better by movements.
Scrophyllaria nodosa (Thrice a day): Cramps in palms or in any part of the body in the vicinity of an enlarged gland.
Secale cor. (Thrice a day): Violent cramps better by cold and cold applications. Violent pain in finger tips. Icy coldness of extremities.
Sulphur: When there is a burning of soles and the person has cramps in calf, foot or heel.
Veratrum alb. (One dose only): One dose taken at bedtime for 3 or 4 nights prevents cramps during the night, especially in calves.
Viburnum op. 3x (Thrice a day): Cramps in the abdomen and legs of pregnant women are controlled very quickly by this remedy. It is a general remedy for all cramps, especially in ladies with uterine troubles.
NOTE: A lazy liver could be a source of cramps. Deficiency of calcium, potassium, magnesium and copper can also be the source of cramps.
