Homeopathic Remedies for Cystitis
ACUTE CYSTITIS
Aconitum nap. (Thrice a day): In recent cases, accompanied with high fever and restlessness. Burning pains in the bladder with pains during urination.
Apis mel. (Thrice a day): Frequent desire or increase in quantity of urine with burning. Urine contains blood. More indicated in women.
Berberis vulg. Q (Thrice a day) 10 drops in ┬╜ cup of water, Cantharis Q (Thrice a day) 10 drops in ┬╜ cup of water: Great burning in the bladder and pain along the urethra. Worse before and after urination.
Cantharis (Thrice a day): Cystitis with a non-stop desire to urinate. Burning, cutting pains in the abdomen and aching in the small of the back. Urine is voided in drops, is burning and may contain blood.
Dulcamara (Thrice a day): Inflammation of the bladder. Urine is milky, thick with mucus and blood. It is especially useful for old people.
Epigea repens (Twice a day): Chronic cystitis with dysuria. Burning in the neck of the bladder while urinating and tenesmus afterwards.
Equisetum (Thrice a day): Cystitis of old people with deep colored urine and pain while urinating.
Lycopodium: Severe, painful urge to pass urine at night. The bladder does not feel empty and the pain and burning remain after urination.
Mercurius cor.: Onset of cystitis is less intense; there can be blood in the urine in the early stage. Symptoms are worse at night and there is excessive production of saliva.
Nux vomica (Thrice a day): Despite a frequent need to urinate, a little urine can be voided and there is pain in doing so. Chill and irritability is generally present.
Populus t. (Thrice a day): Catarrh of bladder in old people and cystitis after surgeries and pregnancy.
Sarsaparilla: Pain worse at the termination of urination. Frequent desire and burning.
Sepia: Leakage of urine when laughing, coughing or sneezing. Pain in the lower abdomen if there is a delay in the passage of urine. The urge is frequent and sudden.
Staphysagria (Thrice a day): Cystitis with a continuous burning sensation and a feeling that a drop of urine is constantly trickling through the urethra. The patient is restless and angry. Such a condition can be a result of sexual intercourse or catheterization. Cystitis and cystocele during puerperium and delivery.
Triticum rep. Q (Thrice a day) 10 drops in ┬╜ cup of water: A good remedy for chronic cystitis. There is a constant desire to pass urine. Urination is painful and difficult.
Tuberculinum 1M (One dose only) Repeat after 15 days: In chronic cystitis, its use gives brilliant and permanent results.
Vesicaria Q (Thrice a day) 5-10 drops in ┬╜ cup of water: Smarting and burning sensation along the course of urethra and bladder with a frequent desire to void urine, often accompanied by pain and passage of urine in drops.
Xanthinum (Thrice a day): Chronic cystitis in women.
CHRONIC CYSTITIS
Lycopodium: There is severe, painful urge to pass urine at night. The bladder does not feel empty. Pain and burning remain after urination.
Pulsatilla: Urine leaks on coughing and sneezing, especially during pregnancy. Pain in the bladder is worse after urination.
Sepia: Leakage of urine when laughing, coughing or sneezing. Pain in lower abdomen if passage of urine is delayed. The urge is frequent and sudden.
NOTE: Cystitis involves associated organs, kidneys, prostate and urethra. In acute cases, there is frequent and painful urination but in chronic cases, polyuria is the only symptoms.
