Homeopathic Remedy for Dehydration
The process of dehydration occurs when output of water exceeds the water intake. It may result from excessive vomiting or excessive passage of urine or excessive perspiration or diarrhea. The clinical signs of dehydration are sticky mucous membranes, dry or sunken eyes, doughy skin. There are no sure indications of how severe dehydration is. Whenever there are prolonged bouts of diarrhea, etc., treatment of the diseases may be given with the indicated remedies. In addition, the following rehydration salt formula may be given in as much quantity as possible. In many cases it will cure. The following remedies selected according to the indications will prove useful:
China off., Chininum ars., Psorinum, Acidum phos., Picricum acidum, Magnesium sulph., Sulphur and Natrium mur.
REHYDRATION SALT FORMULA
- Water: 1 litre
- Common salt:5 grams
- Potassium chloride:50 grams
- Sodium citrate:09 grams
- Glucose: 20 grams
Half a lemon of normal size can be substituted for potassium chloride and sodium citrate, and sugar can be given instead of glucose.
