NOTE 2: A study has shown that 2 men in 5 have problems getting an erection after the age of 40. Nearly 7 in 10 do at the age of 70. It was estimated in early 1998 that the number of men coping with impotency is 140 million worldwide. Use of homeopathic remedies gives excellent results in such cases. While taking cases of erectile dysfunction, the homeopathic physician should know that the dysfunction can be on account of physical and psychological difficulties. Physical difficulties include aging, diabetes, high cholesterol and prostate Surgery. Such cases are incurable. Psychological factors can be depression, anger, male dominance and use of drugs including tobacco. Such cases respond to homeopathic treatment. Not being able to have sexual intercourse is a great concern for some men as it is believed that an unsatisfying sexual act is detrimental to sexual intimacy. In old age and in impotent persons, the flow of blood to the penis decreases causing feeble or no erection at all. Most men experience the problem at some stage of their lives and erection also decreases with advancement of age. Some patients use a vacuum device for a successful sexual intercourse. It involves placing a hollow tube over the penis and inducing the erection with a vacuum pump. The erection is maintained by placing a band at the base of the penis. Such devices are available at some surgical stores.
NOTE 3: Latest surgical methods have made erectile dysfunction of the penis reversible. A tiny suppository silicon bar is inserted into the penile shaft. It provides a permanent erection. When needed, the bar is bent into an upright position and is lowered when done or when not required. It is important that this is done by a person who specializes in the art.
NOTE 4: Five percent of erectile dysfunction cases are caused by irregular levels of sex hormones. Medication can solve the problem.
NOTE 5: Male hormones, healthy nerves, blood vessels and sexual interest all play part in a normal erection. A problem in any of these areas can prevent a man from obtaining of maintaining an erection. It can be caused by depression, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, high blood pressure, heart disease, kidney failure or Parkinson’s disease. Other contributing factors include smoking, excessive alcohol, obesity, stress, prostate Surgery or paralysis.
