Homeopathy Medicine for Chronic Disease

The true nature of a chronic disease was first pointed out by Hahnemann and his elucidation is very helpful in the treatment of such diseases. A chronic disease cannot be cured in a week or a month and it may take a year or more. This condition must be explained to the patient by the homeopath. Hahnemann stated that at least two years are required for the cure of a chronic disease. In para 42 of the Organon, it is stated that two natural diseases can exist within the body at the same time and hence two different remedies are needed at the same time. Hahnemann took a larger view of the history of a patient. He saw in skin diseases, asthma, intestinal catarrh, neuralgias, tumours, etc. manifesting in the same patient at different times, not so many diseases but, only so many chronic, different manifestations.

The conventional system of treatment is based upon and is concerned with:

1. Diagnosis of disease or nosological diagnosis.
2. Diagnosis of the case or the individual diagnosis.

A homeopath has a third diagnosis and in most of the cases it is the only diagnosis – diagnosis of the individual and diagnosis of the indicated remedy.

The treatment of chronic diseases is the test of a homeopath and it is essential for his success that the name of the remedy should not be revealed to the patient.
